Maple Canyon is one of Utah's most unique rock climbing areas. Climbers from around the world come to climb on the unique cliffs. On any given day people of all abilities can be seen testing their skills in Maple Canyon.
Maple Canyon is made up a sedimentary rock called conglomerate. Conglomerate is formed when rocks or pieces of rocks are transported by water or gravity to a depression where the lower layers are cemented by lime or iron. In Maple Canyon erosion strips away the upper layers giving us the beautiful conglomerate. Many of the rocks appear to be smooth as if in a stream bed.
